Sydney Metro West
During the middle of 2023, the Minns Labor Government cast doubt on the future of the Sydney Metro West project. Together with the community we launched a campaign and petition calling on the Government not to scrap the project and to continue with construction. We stood up and showed the importance of access to convenient and fast transport options for our area.
As a result of our strong advocacy and pressure, the Government announced its commitment to the Sydney Metro West from Parramatta to the Sydney CBD. Three stops on the route in our area at North Strathfield, Burwood North (Concord) and Five Dock will be built as planned. Whilst the government have delayed the project two years, it is expected to open in 2032.
I will continue to ensure this important transport infrastructure is delivered on time and as planned.
Upon completion it will take about 10 minutes to get into the city from Five Dock and under 20 minutes from Five Dock to Parramatta.
